Pilates Courses VS Yoga
Many of the women that are considering taking up Pilates Courses or Yoga usually ask about the differences between the two exercise styles. These two styles might seem very similar but there are many fundamental differences between the two. Understanding the difference between Yoga and Pilates is important if you are going to decide between them.
Both Yoga and Pilates courses aim at stretching and elongating your muscles. The biggest difference between the two involves the philosophies behind both practices. While Pilates has more physical aims, Yoga has more spiritual aims.
Yoga is based on eastern philosophies that center around the well being of the mind. Meditation and relaxation are important facets of this practice. Pilates courses are of western design and they focus on physical traits. This type of exercise aims at coordination between the muscles of the body. Precision is all-important when it comes to Pilates while Yoga is more relaxed.
Pilates is not only centered on the physical aspects of exercise. The exercise program focuses on concentration and breathing and it is these factors that aid in relaxation and the relief of stress. Pilates aims to bring the physical and mental aspects of the body together in order to enhance the well being of both.
Both exercises assist individuals in combating stress and the sickness that results from it. For many years, scientists have been concentrating research on the link between stress and disease and the results have been unsettling. In this day and age, many of us are not aware of that the daily stress we put ourselves through could be having dire consequences for our health. Pilates courses and Yoga can help us to lower these levels of stress and assist our bodies in combating sicknesses.
In order to find out which exercise routine is best for you, you should try both of them. Reading up on both forms of exercise might not give you a clear enough idea about what the two forms of exercise are capable of contributing towards your health and personal experience is always the best form of proof for any decision.
For those that want to join yoga or
Pilates courses Pretoria, contacting a studio would be your first step. You will usually begin with an introduction lesson that will take you through all of the steps slowly so that you don’t overwhelm your body. Once you have taken a few classes, you can decide whether or not this form of exercise is for you.
